Country Singer Eddie Montgomery Gets a New Financial Start after his Failed Restauarant and Divorce
For those of you who are not country music fans, Eddie Montgomery is a country music singer and part of the band Montgomery Gentry. Eddie Montgomery has partnered with fellow country musician, Troy Gentry over the last decade to produce multiple Grammy-nominated songs such as Lucky Man, My Town, and Daddy Won't Sell the Farm. Montgomery Gentry was nominated for best vocal duo at the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards from 2000 to 2009.
Eddie Montgomery filed for bankruptcy despite his musical successes. Montgomery's attorney points to his failed restaurant as well as his divorce as the reasons for his financial troubles. Lexington Kentucky Attorney Jamie Harris of DelCotto Law Group explains, "It is very common with individuals dealing with divorce and business closure to have to seek out bankruptcy relief."
Montgomery's restaurant will be sold as part of the bankruptcy to pay back some of his debts. The failed restaurant was in Harrodsburg, Kentucky and went by the name of Eddie Montgomery's Steakhouse. The restaurant received high customer ratings on sites such as yelp and urbanspoon.
The good news for country music fans is that Montgomery will continue to play music. He is scheduled to appear on a Caribbean cruise for country music fans.
